Hey guys,
I've been on minoxidil foam for just about 6 months now... not convinced it's helped at all thus far (although have just noticed a fairly hefty shed has just stopped... could this be a turning point? lol - never give up hope eh!). Hair is as thin as it's ever been at this point, perhaps more so. Anyway, point is I'm now looking to step things up a notch with the big guns so to speak.
I intend to carry on with the minoxidil foam too for now, no point in sacking it in just yet after having come this far.
Now anyway, I've been reading on the suject of popecia/finasteride for a while and it seems like you reach a point after a year or two where you hit the max returns so to speak regardless of the dosage (ie a 1mg dose will catch a 5mg dose up after xx months). Firstly, have I got that correct and secondly does that mean that theoretically one could take 1mg a day until such a point, then cut back to 0.5mg a day to maintain that level of activity? seems like any opportunity to reduce the amount of drug you're putting into your system would be a good thing.
I've ordered a couple of pots of Dr Lee's spironolactone topical too (before I decided to take the plunge into the world of orals) - in theory these should compliment each other right? Has anyone later added topical spironolactone to their propecia intake and seen any improvements? I'm hesitant as to whether to start using it as then I won't know which is having the effect, and carrying both on would only add to the cost...
Thanks for any input, I appreciate the help
