What's up everyone? Just got my order of Finpecia in the mail from inhousepharmacy and will begin taking them immediately. Just have some questions. I'm 24, I've always had a fairly deep hairline and it actually isn't receding but I'm noticing drastic diffuse thinning on the top of my head which has gone on for the past 3 or so months forming the ever-so-famous horseshoe pattern...thus I'm going to do something about this.

I plan to take finasteride every other day to start and I will be combining this with Nizoral 1% which I'll take every 3 or so days. Is this a good treatment to start out? What should I expect from this combination? I don't plan on making an assesment for about a year or so but I'd like some feedback on what I should expect. Also, is there a drastic difference between nizoral 1% or 2%? I know I would need a prescription for nizoral 2%...is it worth it? Any advice, feedback, encouragement, etc would be helpful. Thanks guys. I'll be sure to post results as they come in and I'll be posting pics as well. Keep fighting fellas!

Try taking the correct dosage (1mg daily). 2% Nizoral is available OTC in most countries (US, UK and Europe).

Taking one pill per day is the easiest (and proven) method.

If you want to take a half dose, then I would suggest taking .5mg every day rather than 1mg every other day.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking half doses if your hairloss is slight. But if you can already see the beginnings of the "horse shoe" then I would suggest the full dosage.

Thanks for the help guys. I live in Boston, Massachusetts in the U.S. so I should definitely be able to find some nizoral 2% over the counter if it's available. I appreciate the advice about taking the recommended 1mg but the reason I wanted to have a .5mg daily intake is because one of the things I see as common on this site is people stating that they become tolerant to finasteride and it no longer has much of an effect so in order to prevent that, I considered starting with .5mg and maybe increasing the dosage in the future if I become tolerant. Is this a good decision? Should I just go with the 1mg? Any advice helps. Thanks again.

i'd just go with the full 1mg, my man. Studies have shown that this is effective for average of 5 years before it starts to gradually decline. You can always add another weapon like spironolactone or minoxidil later. plus i think your body will react to .5mg the same way in term of efficacy.

Plus i imagine by that time there may very well be a cure or at least a better treatment available.
