I'm 26 and just started to notice thinning on the crown and back of my head. Kinda sucks. I have a history of baldness on my moms side and my dad's is rather thin at 58 as well. Thinking I'm just gonna start buzzing to a one .not really a fan of meds or rogaine .

I'm guessing you're mixed race, and for mixed race people they tend to look better bald or have the option of getting scalp micropigmentation:

I agree the meds just add a whole other layer of headache and annoyance, but give Nizoral a try. it doesn't really have any side effects and it's anti inflammatory/anti fungal. 1% ketoconazole from the store will do just fine. Could try low dose finasteride and see how you feel on it, but like I said it's just easier to not have to deal with it.

edit: as of right now any loss that you might have isn't very noticeable at first glance. It's tougher to tell with thick textured hair than the usual straighter texture hair pictures that are normally posted.

you will consider the meds once you thin to a point of no return.

save yourself the greif, and take the meds while you have a good fighting chance. Seeing as you are here, you certainly care

Your hair still looks pretty good to me, but as the guy above said maybe try a ketoconazole based shampoo if you’re not keen on finasteride and minoxidil. I use Regenepure.

Thanks for the reply I use nizoral pretty frequently and it seems to fluff up my hair a little. But yeah, you can't really tell in pictures or anything. i posted here about 3 years ago when I suspected it was happening and everyone said I was fine kinda like now. I usually shave it down to a one/stubble, but at this length it's more noticeable. When I really grow it out for more than a month you can't even tell there's thinning on my crown.

I definitely care . Just not enough to take meds.

Haha my family and friends don't seem to notice which I think is bizzare. Probably bc I keep it so short that its not as noticeable and I still have a solid hairline for the most part. We'll see in another 5 years when I've hit 30

It doesnt look that bad yet so hopefully its just very slow. I understand the resistance to meds completely. Who looks at taking drugs everyday forever as a good thing to do that is healthy? That being said your between a rock and a hard place these days. Nothing besides the drugs really works so its meds or probably go bald at whatever pace its going

Yeah I just don't like potential side effects of the drugs and rogaine just seems messy. For reference, this is what my dad looks like at 58 and i hope I follow in the same footsteps.

Possibly this. That or you could just go the dwayne johnson route and get jacked. Possibly both.
