Hello All,

It's been awhile since I've been on this website but I visited it religiously, everyday 3 or 4 years ago to help with my hair loss. I don't know if anyone remembers me but here I am.

My background is - I started Propecia about 11 years ago. Basically when Propecia was introduced I went out and got it. I started at about 25 years old and am 36 now. I've maintained my hair and am "happy" as I could be with what I have, wish I had more but that’s like of a balding man. I never tried anything else but shampoos and I did try Nano and Revivogen years ago. So, except for Nizoral, which I use every once in awhile, I have stuck with Propecia and that was all. I also had two hair transplant surgeries over the years (23) and (32) years old a total of about 1800 grafts.

It is to the point now where I would like to try something else. I've had Rogain Foam sitting in my closet for about a year now and still don't want to go that route. I do not want to go through the shedding period it may cause.

Since there is nothing to do at work I spent the better part of 5 hours going through this forum looking for solutions today. This brings me to my question which I could not find the answer too after reading about 80 posts.

I read a lot about Tricomin, Prox-n, Xandrox and other products along these lines. I am willing to try one of these but it seems from the reading I have done, all these products are meant to help minoxidil work better. Is this the case? If I am not using minoxidil are these products not worth trying. Everything I read leads me to believe that these products enhance the power of minoxidil? Please let me know.

It is amazing how many new things are out there since I last visited. Last time I was here it seems that Folligen was all the buzz. I didn't see one topic on Folligen... and the dermaroller, that wasn't around the last time I was here.

It's good to be back, very educational. Thanks for any advice you may give.

To be honest, I only trust propecia and minoxidil.

All the other treatments are still experimental and have no guarantee that they work for everyone.

Most people will tell you to try if you are really desperate. I would say just see an experienced dermatologist. Worse for worse - accept hairloss.

I already have accepted hairloss, just trying to slow it down :)

Anyway, thanks for the response. I will look into it furthur. I'm not ready to use MONIX yet. I looked at your blog, good stuff. Do you think the DNC ended up doing anything or not?

You said that you dont want to start on Rogaine foam because of shedding but Xandrox is Minoxidil and most likely it will cause some shedding.

There is a lot of new products on the market that work. Hair Signals (new folligen Copper-Peptide), spironolactone, RU, but when it comes to regrow nothing can beat minoxidil.

I'm using "xandrox %15 +" md2002 and its a good minoxidil product. It also has finasteride in it and azeliac acid. As far as the others I've never tried them so I could'nt say. The good thing is there are alot of new developments, but many are in their infancy and might need a few years of testing or use to show efficacy.
