It's been 4 months, does that mean it's not working?

Hi

I've been using rogaine foam twice a day for the past 4 months.
At baseline my problems were mainly at the hairline, and crown and some mid scalp.
After 4 months I think my crown is not worse, maybe a bit better, mid scalp is ok,
but hairline has continued getting worse despite a little growth at the front.
Should I be seeing maximum results by now? Or is it possible I will gain more hair?
I think it's working maintaining some of my hair (not 100 percent sure) but the hairline IS worse since baseline.
I never had a shed when going on rogaine btw.
I'm not on propecia but I am planning starting soon. Is it possible my hairline will regrow if I add a dht blocker?
Maybe the rogaine is "pointless" as long as dht is not being blocked?
i am on spironolactone though but as far as i know its not a dht blocker.

thanks for anyone who can give me some advice!!

Rogaine is definitely not pointless - it gives you a chance to regrow hair you couldn't otherwise regrow on other treatments.

I can't remember where I read it, but I think rogaine takes longer to work on women than men. Regardless, you won't hit peak results until about the year mark, so stick with it. At month 3 I showed only slight improvement, and then by month 4 I had almost full coverage & I could hide noticeable thinning. Some people take longer, and who knows - maybe you'll have dramatic results within the next few months.

Propecia does regrow hair for some people, but it's much more of a maintenance treatment than a regrowth treatment. Combined with rogaine, you should have some good results (if DHT is the cause of your hair loss).
