Issues with Rogaine any suggestions?

I've been losing my hair since I was about 25 I'm now 30 and it's noticably bare on top. I've resorted to shaving my head at this point, but part of me still holds on to the hope of regaining my hair one day.

I used Rogaine a few years ago and ended up with an extreme rash on top of my head. It sounds really disgusting so I apologize, but it really basically burnt my scalp it turned extremely red and caused whiteheads to pop up everywhere. So there I was with a balding head and then a red gross head. I went to the doctor about the issue and he prescribed Propecia, but I really didn't like taking it for various reasons.

My question is, are there any rememdies available in the US the people have seen results with? I'm reluctant to go back to Rogaine due to the previous issues stated. Does anyone know of another option or multiple things I could try?

I'm new to this board and I'm a little lost with some of the analagies or shorthand terms that are used so bare with me. Also, keep in mind that I shave my head with clippers so shampoo isn't really an option, because I don't have any hair to wash.

Thanks in advance.

Try Dr. Lee's minoxidil. Maybe you are allergic to the alcohol or ppg in Rogaine. Dr. Lee had different kind of minoxidil which may help you if you are allregic to the contents he does not include.

i got similar experience as you... itch, rashes, blister etc... my hair loss became very noticeable after 4months plus with minoxidil... later i tried folligen and got the same problem so i figure out it might be the PPG...

as i grew quite alot of tiny hair on my forehead which have very little contact with the minoxidil, i figure minoxidil might be for me therefore i got Dr. Lee PPG free minoxidil and started using it a few days ago... so far so good...
