Isn't it sad, we're still relying on treatments from 1997?

now its 2016 and we are still RELYING on TREATMENTS from 1997.... finasteride and minoxidil

... either these scientists suck or better treatments are being hidden from us because of GREED

This GRINDS my GEARS! I was hoping to see better treatments in my lifetime but now im not so sure...

Yep, that's why I don't even check the forums much anymore, there's not going to be any new treatment in the next years that you can get off the shelf that will revert hair loss.

It's actually ridiculous how a cure for something like male pattern baldness still hasn't been released

Instead of sitting around waiting for something to get done, it only makes sense to get **** done ourselves.

Lots of guys here (including myself) who are willing to research various experimental products, that would take the FDA years and years to consider.

When it comes to big pharma companies, MONEY is the only thing that matters. You think they give a rats *** about the guys on hairlosstalk.com who are going bald ? Probably not.

Science can answer all of our questions, and ultimately science is what will help us keep out hair. Not the FDA, not pharmaceutical companies, but science.
My hairless may be what some consider negligible compared to themselves and/or others on the forum. But you better be damn sure I'm using all of my resources to come up with ways to help all the guys suffering from hair loss.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and once my Honours thesis is published there will be hope.

Man that's like saying it's ridiculous a cure for cancer hasn't been released yet.
Even if they found a way, there is to much money to be made and "the cure" will more than likely be swept under the rug.

I understand that.. why cure it when we can get a monthly payday...like kemo ect...I do believe the cure for cancer has been out for quite some time now... and probably baldness too... so what experimental products have shown you promise on your hair?

I wasn't speaking for myself in particular, but for a lot of other guys on the forum, just take a look around.
for example:
  • Swisstemples and his PDG protocol
    • I mean this guy is using UV radiation and castor oil, and has grown back hair on his temples that were once completely bald.
  • The Ru58841 users
    • Irishpride
    • Eldut
  • The cb-03-01
  • the OC/Seti users

The bottom line comes to down to how much money you want to spend in order to try and save you your hair. I've spent more money on hocus-pocus BS, that if I saved my $$$$ I could probably afford a hair transplant right now.

I would personally be more than satisfied if a new product came out that halted/ and or reversed hairloss even if it were a daily treatment (preferably pill) as opposed to cure, as long as it didnt have some ridiculous side effect profile.

I wouldnt use the word cure. More like any new treatment in the last 20 years would be something. If we got another rogain you would have to count your blessings that is about the best your going to see for a long time I think

The FUE technique was invented in 1999.

FUE megasessions: started becoming the norm and affordable in the late 2000's.

In 1997, I couldn't have had the 2000 grafts session I had in 2014.

We also have temporary SMP that was made popular by Milena Lardi, that was developed only a few years ago.

Compare that to having the option to be butchered through an overpriced FUT with no possibility of having the scar tattooed.

What about the treatments that are in development now: Histogen, Replicel and many other promising solutions?

Only a decade ago, we had nothing, no research going on, not even Intercytex if I recall well. Jack.

Saying there was no evolution in hair loss treatments since finasteride is quite ignorant.

Greed? Only like 5-10% of hair loss sufferers try to do something about their hair loss? Why? Mostly because we only have half-assed solutions.

If the treatments were beter, almost every bald guy would pay to have his hair back. So it's in the interest of the pharmaceutical company to find better treatments.

That's a great summary.

I'll admit to being ignorant and thinking that nothings changed in many years.
