I've been taking finasteride for the past four months now, my only side effect was a loss of libido after 10 days which went away after a little while.
Last week my urologist prescribed me Xatral (Alfuzosin) for a suspected bladder infection.
This is what Xatral is:
Xatral tablets contain the active ingredient alfuzosin, which is a type of medicine called an alpha-blocker. It works by blocking alpha receptors that are found in the muscle in the prostate gland.
My dosage is 10mg.
I have done some research and found out that Xatral is an Alpha 1 blocker.
From my knowledge finasteride is an alpha 2 blocker, and dutasteride is an alpha 1 and alpha 2 blocker. Does this mean the combination of Xatral and finasteride is similar to dutasteride?
I've been taking Xatral for the past 3 days and noticed I had a very fast heartbeat even when doing something like getting out of bed, urinating etc.
I've also had some nipple soreness. I didn't take any last night and the heart beat seems to have settled down.
Has anyone been on Xatral before? Is it bad to take it along with finasteride at the same time?
