does it stay permanently or do you need some sort of medication like propecia to maintain it?

You need drogas for the rest of your life my friend. A hair transplant is just the final piece of that KitKat break. I'm Loving It.

Some of our hair follicles are receptive to DHT, some are not. The ones that are not receptive to the androgens grow what is considered as terminal hair or DHT resistant hair. Every hair follicle carries this predisposition.

So in theory, you do not need the hairloss drugs for the terminal transplanted hair, we need them for the "natural hair" that is indeed receeptive to DHT.

I still see guys who had plugs done with terminal hair as long as thirty plus years ago, and the hair is still growing. Most of the ones I see had them done in the eighties. Terminal hair continues to grow even when it is relocated.
