Today i went to see my doctor so that he could send me to a dermathologist,
he has hairloss and what he said to me is that, there a couple of problems besides stress and stuff like that, that cause hairloss, so he said that i have to make analyzes before i could go to the dermathologist.
He said that after i do the analyzes i would have make an apointment, again, with him, only then could he send me to the dermathologist.
The thing is, i dont want to have to go thru all this stuff and have to wait 2 to 3 months just for the dermathologist tell me that i'm ok to take anything to try and battle my hair loss, i want to start right now cause i am shedding so much i already notice alot of difference in only two months that i noticed my hairloss (thining).
I'm thinking about going on proscar since it's cheaper, should i start now or continue to lose hair until i visit the dermathologist? is there anything i should know?

I've got to agree as well. Unless you have some other symptoms, just self medicate.

I agree with the other posters. Don't bother seeing this Doctor again. He just wants your money. There are hundreds of things that *could* cause hair loss, everything from endocrine problems to arsenic posioning. So what is he going to do, test all these crazy things before he goes with the single *most likely* answer which is androgenetic alopecia?

Just self medicate and get your hormones tested every few years. Take pictures too, so you can gauge progress.
