Is this regimen safe and can it be effective???

I am currently on Beta Sitosterol and Saw Palmetto for about 1 month and 3 days. Not much of a difference yet, still losing same amount of hairs except for the past 3 days its been more thin hairs falling from my thin left temple. This could be good or bad. Anyways I want to get on propecia and wanted to take it every other day (for costs). I was thinking could I take the finasteride every other day and on the finasteride off days take beta sis and saw palmetto. Can this be harmful? Could it potentially work? I do not like quitting things cold turkey but I would really like to get on one finasteride since it is supposedly the most proven hair treatment out.
