Is this normal?? - 23 and need advice

Hello. I'm 23 years old, and as of late June I had a FULL head of shoulder length hair. Over the past two months or so, my world has changed drastically. My scalp has experienced dramatic thinning from front to back. When I part my hair, there is a definite clearing upon the cowlick on the back of my scalp. I began using 5% Rogaine at the reccomendation of a general practitioner. I have been using it for less than a week, and then today, I was literally covering the bathroom sink with my shedding. I was doing nothing more than running my hands through my hair with my head hung over the sink and it was falling like rain. This happened twice today. I have not read any reports of Rogaine shedding happening so quickly. I am going to see a dermatoligist on Friday.

Is it normal for hair loss to begin so rapidly? I had bloodwork done and everything was normal. I am tripping out. Any advice would help.

Yes, it is normal to shed when you start rogaine. My advice is to start taking MSM daily, to speed up the hair-growth cycles.
