Is this miniaturization? (Pictures)

Hi,

I've had a good look through articles and threads here and thought I would post my concerns for anyone's comments.

I've been through a fairly stressful year for various reasons and since a few events that have happened, it seems like the frontal region of my hairline has shed hair. I've noticed over the past couple of months that I shed more hairs than usual, the hairs being quite long, wiry and 'dead' looking hairs. These hairs don't seem to be constrained to just the hairline and can shed from the top of my head also, but the worst of the shedding seems to be at the hairline. Since shedding these hairs, I've noticed that I have grown back a sort of 'stubble' like bunch of hairs at the hair line. These hairs seem to be growing fine but I'm not sure if I should expect these to come back or whether this is miniaturization as part of male pattern baldness?

I realise these pictures don't exactly look bad compared to many, but I'm just looking for opinions on the hairline region as to what is maybe going on? Possibly cortisol related and has led to telogen effluvium?

if you don't have any history of male pattern baldness in your family that could possibly be Telogen Effluvium, but i'm no expert.

No one, to my knowledge, on both my father and mother's side are bald apart from one of my mother's brothers.

Just feels awful brittle and a lot of the hairs that shed just feel rather 'dead' with no white bulb.

Very difficult to diagnose. The only thing you can do is take pictures every month and compare them. Also you can compare the hairs you shed based on their diameter. This can tell you if you are thinning.

Will do, thanks. There is a spot present on my forehead in the pictures and I have noticed that the short hairs growing on my hairline have actually grown to cover that now, so I guess time will tell whether this was Telogen Effluvium or the onset of male pattern baldness. I'll keep my eye on it and monitor it.

Thanks again.
