I haven't even done steroids. My hair was also a little oily when I took these. Is there no hope for me?

It's worse that you don't do steroids(as long as you quit) because this means your hair is heading down this natural progression.

TBH though I see your hair as fairly thick despite the perceived thinning. I would guesstimate if you are in your teens/early 20's you will hold on to a sufficient amount of hair until your mid 30's and if you are in your mid/late 20's probably beyond 40 or maybe even 50.

So, chill out.

I was troubled by the same thing, or I still am, dunno. But I have similar "problem". Tried taking some photos under different angles and lightning and honestly, there is a big big difference if you are standing under sunlight, under direct bathroom light or in normal room light conditions.

You got dark hair, white scalp, there is a big contrast difference, it can't look good.
But if it ease your mind, I had that same issues 10y ago, and now, 10y later, I'm in my late 20 and nothing really changed.
