Is there any evidence that finasteride causes these side effects?

Hi guys,

I have been looking through a few threads and articles today and I have discovered that some people say that finasteride can stop hair growing on the body such as facial hair and cause significant problems to people still going through puberty.

I'm 20 and half and can only grow a patchy beard, I'm probably likely to have ended puberty by now but I'd like to hear peoples opinion on the subject and if they know anyone who has had problems like this on finasteride. Its not going to stop me taking it

Yeah both can, my dad was 18 (he claims). My dads dad never could and he had practically no hair on his arms and legs. My brother was 27/28 before it started getting thicker

It has been shown in studies that hair growth when it comes to facial as well as other body hair has a very low correlation with DHT levels. The hormones are important to the development of the hair but after you are done with puberty it is unlikely that your beard will develop further. One reason for the post above is that for some people DHT levels rise long after puberty stops and stay at that new higher level, for whatever reason. This is also the reason why people may begin aggressive hairloss in their late 20s or 30s instead of right after puberty.

Thanks for replying . I didn't know that. Doesn't the beard need more T than anything

If you look around the internet for finasteride side effects I think its been blamed for everything. There is a guy claiming he is really short and looks feminine because of it and its stunted the growth of his limbs, starting at 17

If he had to use finasteride at 17, he probably has **** genes. That's why.

Yeah exactly, he said he was 5'3 I think, not much luck.
