Is The V Shaped Pattern Of Recession A Sign Of Hair Loss?

I’ve read recently that a V shaped pattern of recession is a sure sign of hair loss. How true is this? I’ve seen men in their 60’s and 70’s with some of the V shaped recession and they still have a full head of hair (Pierce Brosnan is an example of what I’m saying)
