is spironolactone a proven treatment>?

are there studies backing this up? everyone is always reccomending it althought it is not a big 3 item. whats the deal.

I would like to know this as well. It's scientifically backed but I don't know if there have been any clinical trials for it.

There are medical studies backing the efficacy of spironolactone... however there are no actual FDA certifications that can let the drug be prescribed or even marketed as a hair loss treatment.

To put it simply, spironolactone works, but it's not FDA approved for the treatment of hair loss.
