I've heard that it can cause or make worse, underlying conditions, mess around with blood pressure,,...etc...just generally not the best for the heart.

Exactly how true/untrue is this?

Should I be worried? I get heart flutters and I'm on a drug to control them,..which is also a blood pressure lowering drug.

So I"m a bit worried about the minoxidil.

Talk to your doctor.

What kind of answer is that?

1ml of 5% seem to be safe. Sometimes our body needs to adjust to a new drug but 5% is the safe limit. More may cause systemic side effects such as low blood pressure, dizziness. Use 5% and see how it goes, check your blood pressure.

If you have low blood pressure already, it can be problematic. I have had a bad reaction, as I have low blood pressure, but I doubt that it is across the board dangerous.

There is always some medicine that will save many but kill a few, or at least make them sick. Think of it this way- penicillan has saved so many lives, but many people become allergic as well. Only way to know is to try and see if it has that effect.

Talk to your doctor.

This is the CORRECT RESPONSE!!!!

Talk to your doctor! You have already told us that you are on meds for a heart flutter.

Minoxidil can lower blood pressure and without knowing anything about your heart problem (the exact problem), you should never take any advice from this forum, such as take it without seeking advice.

Minoxidil can mess with your cardiovascular system if you already have an existing problem.

Seek advice! Better to know now than suffer the consequences!

Need to repeat! TIMBO - gave the correct answer!!!
