Is Nizoral shampoo safe for long term use?

I've read that the active ingredient, 1% ketoconazole, in Nizoral shampoo can cause liver damage and reduce testosterone levels. So, is Nizoral shampoo safe for long term use?

I'd like to use it to help regrow my hair, instead of minozidil, because minoxidil gets absorbed through my skin too easily, causing rapid heart beat.

From what I understand.. Nizoral isn't a substitute for minoxidil.. at all..

well, that's too bad... I heard it was the only shampoo that could actually stimulate hair growth.

I think most people agree that it's the best shampoo to use for M.P.B but I doubt it would stimulate any noticable hair growth..

I've also been wondering something similiar.
Is it ok to use nizoral on a more regular basis. it suggests twice a week, but what about 3-4.
I love the way this stuff feels followed up by some dove shampoo.
