from what i have read here, the "big three" is the best defense that i can use against looking like my father within the next few years. i first started minoxidil about three weeks ago, and propecia almost a week ago. after about a week on the minoxidil, i started getting hardcore dandruff and itchiness on my scalp that just about drove me insane. at first i couldn't find nizoral, so i purchased some tgel instead. tgel has worked wonders on my scalp by eliminating completely the dandruff and itchiness. my question therefore is, do i really need to use nizoral if tgel does the job perfectly? i recently discovered that they sell nizoral at walmart for around $12. however, i dont want to buy it if i really dont need it. from what i have been reading it is some very hardcore stuff, plus it is twice the cost of tgel for half of the product. the entire reason that nizoral is on the "big three" is to control dandruff, correct? or am i missing something?

thanks guys

Only half correct. The active ingredient in nizoral is thought to help stop male pattern baldness. It only needs to be used about 3 times a week so a little goes a long way.

There has been no research into how the chemical effects hairloss but its my opinion that it ONLY lessens inflamation thus improving hair growth .Results have been very minimum with nizoral .Nizoral is a waste of money and I would recommend buying a copper peptide product to replace the nizoral .Once I finish this bottle I have I won't buy anymore .

waste of money?

it's like $14 for the big bottle and if you only use it 3 times a week like your supposed to it'll last you about 3 months or more. So that comes to $4.50 a month.

I would suggest everyone invest that 14$ into a hairloss shampoo they can use daily especially if your using copper peptide product .

I don't know if you've noticed this but nizoral IS the hairloss shampoo of choice. Just read all the people posting about it. There's also been a few studies to show that it may be helpful in stopping some hairloss. That's more than I can say for all the other "hairloss" shampoos. All the other hairloss shampoos are like $30 a bottle and you have to use it everyday.

Nizoral (Keto) should be part of every regime, even if you do the copper peptide approach. The better a "cocktail" your scalp recieves is best. When its your hair you are trying to save you might as well do it the right way, all the way, despite a bit of extra cost. Think of it as "why not do a job perfect" when it can be done that way. Go for the nizoral, Xandrox, spironolactone cream, Folligen and finasteride. If liver panel results show elevated enzymes or if you have finasteride side effects then decrease dosage to 1/2 mg w/ the finasteride and check again. Good luck.

Now that you mention "cocktail" I suspect your right .The more numerous the attack the better .I'll keep the nizoral and add a daily shampoo like hair energizer as well for that added ingredient .MY regime is complex and once I get my hairline back I'll lessen the cocktail a little .

well, price isn't that big of a deal for me. however, i guess i would rather just use one shampoo daily. i guess ill grab some nizoral 1% at walmart, they dont have 2%. is there really a big difference between the 1% and 2%? wouldn't i just be able to use the 1% more often? also, what do you guys think about selsun blue or head and shoulders for non nizoral days? even better, would i be able to use just normal shampoo on non nizoral days?
