Is My Hairline Receding Or Maturing?

I haven't really noticed or observed my hairline up until now. I have just notice how high it is in the corners and it is beginning to concern me. I have heard of hairlines maturing, but I haven't found any good comparison material on the internet. I am only 16, so I don't want the answer to be male pattern baldness, but if it is, what can I do to treat it? Do I go to a doctor? Since I am 16 and still have a pediatrician, will he even know what to do? Do I buy rogaine?

My dad isn't really bald, but he is kind of thinning, but he is 55, so that seems normal for his age. My grandpa almost went completely bald, but he was 79 when I last saw him before he died and that was during chemo therapy. I have seen a few pictures of him when he was young and he never really was struggling with male pattern baldness. I attached a few pictures below. I hope some people are able to help me.

Thank you in advanced.

Maturing and receding are the same thing. And yes for sure. You're border line, if not all the way, NW3 in my opinion.

A mature hairline usually means a nw2 but thick and clean lines with no miniaturisation along hairline.

Unfortunately your balding. As you can see male pattern baldness is eating further into your vertex. At 16yo it would seem you have agressive male pattern baldness so starting treatment at 18 would be a good idea.

Do I have to be 18 to get it treated? Who would I go to? What should I do?

See your family doctor or a dermatologist if you can afford that. I will warn you though it can be tough to get doctors to prescribe it because most are kind of unfamiliar with it. Its hit and miss just depends on the doctor.
Couldnt we really call someone with a Norwood 6 or 7 just a guy with an extra mature hairline? Lets just reclassify male pattern baldness as varying degrees of mature hairlines and just say its not even an issue if you want to follow the mature hairline argument to the logical conclusion. In short I not believer in mature hairline.

Thank you for the advice. When you say prescribe "it", what are you referring to? I'm guessing it's a drug that probably messes with hormones. I can see why that would be weird to take at my age. So do you think hairline is fine or do you also think it's currently receding? Either way, I'm getting it checked out at this point. I'm practically freaking out at this point.

He means finasteride. Probably not good for someone your age but definitely something you should look into. That and minoxidil (rogaine)

Not sure if you're trolling or not but that's a heavily receded hairline. Not going to sugar coat anything.

If your hair loss continues like this you will be full on bald by 25. Get to work bro.

Firstly you need to consult with your dermatologist. Don't take finasteride at this age. You are very younger so I suggest you go for PRP therapy and A-Cell. It surely helps you.

Thank you. I made an appointment with my doctor later this month.
