I have been on propecia for about 8.5 months, and minoxidil for roughly 1 month. My hair still looks thin on the crown/vertex, especially under natural sun light. Just frustrating, doesnt seem like my hair is improving much if at all. What do you guys think?

You hair looks darker and the thinning looks to be filling in slightly.

Its to early to tell really with either treatment.

finasteride can take up to a year and Minoxidil usually takes 3-4 months.

The color of your hair look darker, it will take a bit longer to see if finasteride and minoxidil will help in your case, but be patient though!

Its the lighting. I tried to be consistent with it, but its the light is different in the base line picture for sure.

Kind of worried that I started both too late. I first noticed my hair was thinning around January of 2007, but I didnt think much of it. I think it gradually got worse and that when I first decided to start finasteride in Aug of 2009.

Did I start to late =/

Looks like it's filling in to me man.

You could always try stepping up the minoxidil to something like Xandrox 5% with Retin-A, or Nanominox, or considering a topical antiandrogen (although to be fair the problem may be more down to encouraging the hair to grow again at this point, hence the addition of the retin A and azelaic acid of Xandrox). Nanominox also works through other mechanisms and may penetrate deeper.

But, give it time :)

Oh, perhaps a shampoo like Regenepure or Dr Lee's regrowth shampoo might help to give things a helpful push as well, with keto and things like salicylic acid :)
