Hello I recently, well not recently a few months back I checked the back of my head or the top of my head for the first time ever (lol) and saw that I can see a bit of my scalp a little above my crown and I didn’t think much of it and a few months later here I am, there has been no change whatsoever to it but I’m curious what you guys think , I have naturally thin curly/wavy hair as I’m Moroccan and when I say thin I mean like I’ve had really thin hair ever since I was young but it looked good y’know I have seen pictures to back it up too of me when I was about 8-11 years old my family history is no man is bald or even balding for that matter on my dads side or my mums, my mum and dad grew up really rough and it caused them a bunch of stress and shock, my dad lost some of his hair due to it and just ended up shaving it off, so please let me know what you think it could also be telogen effluvium as I had the worst breakup of my life in October which affected my studying and health as I would smoke cigarettes to ease the pain( it was stupid aha) anyways would love to know what u guys think and keep in mind my hair is naturally thin curly/wavy also I never see this after I shower, this is my hair when it’s a little greasy and slepped on and I never see this when there’s no lighting here are some pictures with different lighting

I would say probably. Good news is Minoxidil 5% is good for this area.

You're not thinning, Retinoid hasn't even factored in that you're brushing your hair forward, away from the crown natural whorl pattern.

Most people with fine texured hair scalp is more revealing than thicker diameter hair at short lengths.

Its best you just go get an evaluation from a reputable dermatologist.
I’m not thinning ? And yeah how did you know it’s brushed down, my friend said the same thing and called me dumb and mentioned that of course it’s gonna look like that if I’m brushing it down and also my hairline is literally the same since I was a kid thanks this makes me feel a lot better but I will for sure get checked up : ) just in case

I had something similar (though it was more severe) when I was 19 and used minoxidil for 6 months and have not had issues until 10yrs later. It is hard for ppl online to tell you for sure, you are going to be the best judge. You can always just keep an eye on it.

I will for sure keep an eye on it :) and also I really don’t like the iPhone cameras when it comes to situations like this because the actually brighten up/ worsen the picture much more than it actually is thanks for your input ! ☺️
