Is male pattern baldness Directly Caused By Aging...?

Is male pattern baldness part of the aging process, or the result of the cumulative effects of oxidative stress over the years? I mean look at this guy he is like Norwood 1 at what 55 years old? This guy is his hair just immune to any effect of DHT or what? This guy doesnt even have a mature hairline which should happen to everyone according to doctors.
I just saw this picture and noticed he has no facial hair at 55 years old, and makes me wonder how important are androgens versus all the other theories as to why male pattern baldness happens to most men as they age.

I have seen people who were NW6 at 18. They lived in my same environment.
Of course aging plays a part and oxidative stress too. But I think hairloss is preprogrammed in your genes. Then again, having a certain gene does not mean it will be "expressed" necessarily at a certain age. Problem is these triggering factors are still unknown (except for nofap, some say).

Just out of curiosity, I see that you made your account in 2005 so how is your hair looking now after 11 years?

Would you say that nofap is beneficial for somewhat slowing hairloss, or just a myth?

Honestly I think it is a myth, but I can only base it on anecdotal evidence, I know no research about it.

I'll explain myself: since I was 13 to when I was 18, I was a part of a very closely knit circle of friends. We knew everything of one another and I can tell you for sure that everyone of us "fapped" himself pretty much daily. Some of us (not I in this particular case) had higher averages: twice sometimes three times a day.
Sometimes one of use had a girlfriend, but it was in the 90s and sex was not as easy for teenagers as today in Italy, so the "fapping" went on.

At 18/19, though, only 2 of 7/8 friends showed some sign of thinning, and they weren't those who were knowing as being the exaggerated "fappers"...
Of course my sample is very small and constitutes no research, but it is difficult for me to infer that masturbation has some relation to baldness.

What do you think?

To be honest I'm not sure, you'd think that it would be a myth with how frequently most people masturbate especially in teenagers like you said. However usually when I "fap" the top of my scalp feels tingly/itchy which leads me to believe there may be some correlation between the two, at least in my case, but it's possible that it's just in my head. It may play a small part in slightly speeding up male pattern baldness and whatnot, but for the most part it probably is a myth otherwise we would surely see much more guys with hairloss (particularly teenagers)

Even if you Google it, there is no study that has confirmed any link between hairloss and how often one yanks the crank.
