Is it true that diffuse thinning is not genetic?

What causes it? At 21 I began thinning and receding, but the sides and back remained thick. I began taking Propecia and noticed the sides grew even thicker and faster along with the top. Now at 25 I have begun to notice that the sides and back, although still a bit thicker than the top have become thinner than before. I read that diffuse thinning is the entire head - what could cause this suddenly? Along with Propecia, I am on 100 mg of Zoloft and 100 mg of Anafranil (Clomipramine). I take 3 fish oil tabs daily also. Could either of those 2 prescription meds be effecting my hairloss? Is this indicative of another health issue?

I don't know what the latter drug is, but zoloft should not affect hair loss. Fish oil tablets are supposed to help, make hair and body healthier in general so that shouldn't make it worse. I used to have and recently returned a slightly hyper thyroid, which can result in some shedding and thinning of hair. I have sebaceous gland that goes nuts oils which doesn't make hair look the healthiest. Stress is known to thin out hair quickly too or lose more than usual. I have diffuse thinning I am sure for me it's genes, yes - happening quicker due to a few reasons I mentioned, and yeah there could be other reasons, at least reasons furthering it along quicker perhaps...

I'd see a dermatologist or someone and ask them these questions. Research more. Got any pics?
