Thanks for the encouraging words. What really sucks is I have a twin brother with a full head of hair. Not identical.

I am 29. Been taking finasteride for a month or so. Man it looks bad. Is it too late?

No way, its not too late at all. You haven't experienced severe hair loss, thereby you can get nice regrowth. Just be patient and add Rogaine Foam to your regimen (it's the best treatment to regrow hair). And again -- BE PATIENT. It usually takes anywhere between 4 to 6 months to really see regrow. It may even take a bit longer.

your temples are shot, and those are the hardest to grow. Lets not be politically correct. You are going to have a very rough time growing those slick bald temple areas back.

I would recommend an hair transplant.

i think he should at LEAST try finasteride+minoxidil on them before resorting to an hair transplant. maybe throw in some prox-n as well on the hairline once a day.

gsxr,

some better angled pics would help. can we get one of you facing the camera straight on? you can black your face out if you want.

thanks.

it looks like between an NW3 and NW4 to me, so NW3.5 would be my guess, but this pic makes it hard to tell. It could be anywhere in that range, 3, 3.5 or 4. That's why extra pics from better angles would be nice. Pics from the top are good from looking at the top, but your problem area seems to be your front, so let's get some frontal facing pics up.

You HAVE to add minoxidil(rogaine) on the mix at all cost. It will help you thicken up what you already have and regrow some. finasteride alone will just help you keep what you have.

I'm confused. I've been on finasteride for 3 months and everyone seems to have a different opinion on finasteride. Studies show that there is an improvement (regrowth) from using finasteride. A lot of users say the same thing yet other users simply say that it'll just keep what I have. So which one is it?? I'm really confused now.

it will regrow a lot for some people, some for different people, a little for another group, and will be just maintenance for others.

this guy has some serious temple loss and so there's almost no way he gets a solid portion of it back from just finasteride.

Consider just as a preventetive measure against further loss. Regrowth is possible but only with hairs that are recently miniturised by d.h.t. Only if you are a good responder. It might take you back to the position you were in 6months ago but not 2 yrs ago.

I am a diffuse thinner with still hair left at the temples but not at all thick enough to contribute aesthetically, would finasteride work for me at all then? I just started my fourth month today..

It will help MAINTAIN your temples, and you may get a tiny bit of regrowth, but you should add minoxidil because it's much better at stimulating regrowth, especially if the loss is not very recent.

I have always had huge temples even when I had a full set of hair or I was slowly losing it from puberty, who knows. Over the last 4-5 years my temples were the first to go up a bit on each side and it stayed like that for a year or two. In the last 2 years my hair has really thinned out in the front and miniaturization started at the very front and sides. Now when my hair is wet I can see diffuse thinning reaching back towards the crown but not that far yet. Not noticeable when dry. I have lost alot of ground in the hairline in the front. Doesn't look good. It seems like it is really aggressive now. Thanks for the replies
