Is it too late to start?

Hi all, I just turned 30 a few months ago and I've had hair thinning since I was in my early 20s. I've been using Minoxidil for about 4 years now, but the thinning definitely hasn't stopped and I have certainly not gained any more hair. I have not tried anything else at all. I also experience a lot of hair shedding in the shower.

So my question is, if I get on Finasteride now, and Ketaconazole, on top of the minoxidil, is it too late to start now at my age?

Also, does anyone from the US know if my regular HMO insurance with Kaiser will cover any of the costs of the medication?

Thanks for your help.

I have regained my hair lost over a decade of diffusing/thinning so I would say give it a try. But follow a strict regimen of Big3 and be patient and consistent.

Yes Templanoid, get on Finasteride now so you don't keep balding. Definitely keeping using Minoxidil since it helps keep hair other than promoting hair regrowth.

If you get generic Proscar, which is Finasteride, health insurance will cover it since it's used to treat BPH, and you can use it off-label for Male Pattern Baldness. Don't go for Merck's Propecia if you care about saving money since branded Finasteride is rather expensive.
