Is It Safe To Use finasteride At 20, Need Advice Please

I’m 20 and thinking about starting finasteride. I’m pretty much done growing, but my beard is still coming through, I’m worried that starting finasteride would halt my beard growth, could this happen?

Also, I’ve read all the stories of permanent irreversible erectile dysfunction, does this actually happen?

My beard is long and thick. I've been on finasteride for a year and dutasteride for a month. So my dht is 100 percent supressed. And i have no side effects. And alot of the time its mind over matter. Trust me, you will be fine. : D take finasteride if you are lsoing hair. And remember im taking finasteride and dutasteride, i have aggressive male pattern baldness so im halting my loss with this and i still wake up with morning wood and have a high sex drive.

I started taking finasteride at 18 and now I'm 21. I have not had any side effects from it, but I can not grow a full beard and do not have a ton of hair on my chest either. I do not know if that is genetic or from the finasteride. However, my hair loss on my head has stabilized so it is worth it to me either way.

Same. Dutasteride and finasteride have maintained what i have. Minoxidil helps thicken my beard.

Thanks guys, still have that worry in my head. It’s not so much immediate side effects, as I’ll just stop taking it if I experience bad sides. It’s more in a year or so, where for some reason I have to stop taking it. I’ve heard stories of permanent ED, does this cruelly happen?

Im taking dutasteride which is way stronger than finasteride and im also taking finasteride. And i dont have ed. My sex drive is still high and i wake up with wood. 9 times out of 10 when someone says that they have sides its mind over matter. Some people say that they have sides the first week. How is that possible. If it takes up to a uear for a drug to work it usually takes up to a year to see side effects. So sont worry : D and permanent ed is bullshit.

I am also on finasteride , have been for 7 months. I was in the same situation as you but I started it at 24. I got a batch but kept it at hand for 3 months , too scared to take it. As soon as I realised there is nothing I can really do but either embrace my hair loss or maintain my hair using finasteride , I popped a pill, didn’t even think about sides and have been doing since. One thing I will tell you is this: if you go into it EXPECTING to get sides , thinking about them all the time then your mind will blame anything that changes on finasteride, sometimes that is the case but more so when you overthink the sides.
