Is it possible to feel growth on the scalp?

Taking 1 mg finasteride everyday and diffused thinner. Going through a second shed on month 8. Head looks thinner but starting to feel a second layer of hair(maybe a couple millimeters in length) when I brush my hand through my hair. Is what I'm feeling growth or maybe hair is coming back thicker?
