Is it normal to shed a little bit on finasteride?

I've been on it for 3 months. Last night was the first night I've ever seen hair on my pillow after I woke up, and I've noticed a few hairs on my desk throughout the day. There was maybe 8 hairs on my pillow. I know the body goes through stages where it gets rid of old hairs and grows new ones, but it still scares the hell out of me. I don't know if this is normal for my body or not.

Is this normal? So far it seems like finasteride is working for me. But whenever I see hair on my pillow, floor, or desk it's quite terrifying.

Sorry if I have this wrong. I'm not sure if 'shedding' = finding a few hairs. I've probably seen 15 hairs today so far, and I've never noticed any before.

Thanks!!

It's usually an indicator that it's working, yes. Although the "shed" is not as common as people think. Some people shed the majority don't.

Is simply finding a few hairs throughout the day or a couple on your pillow a shed? Or are you talking about much more hairs falling off while, for example, brushing your teeth in the morning?

I was finding 5-10 on my pillow before I started any treatment 2 months ago, a few dropped when I brushed my teeth, then sometimes i'd comb my hair after and get about another 10 hairs, I did this all the time and it stressed me out big time.

I have done this about 5 times in the last 2 months from when I started finasteride and the results are the same, so its not making me shed at all.
I'm more relaxed now and this really really bothered me before like it is with you.
I've come to the conclusion that this has probably been happening all my life, but I just never noticed before so I was stressing over nothing.
once you start looking for shedding hairs you'll see them more often.

@rtc84, same thing happened to me as well. i started to see hairs on my pillow after 2 months. i will finish 3 months within 7-8 days. However shedding still didnt stop.

i went to a dermatolog and asked it. she said to me its quite normal and its finas. shedding.
