Is It Minoxidil Or Finasteride Shed? Crazy Shed

- I'm 31 now but only noticed thinning a year ago. I've been on Minoxidil for 8-10 months, I don't remember how long exactly and did not go through a shed. I actually felt like my hair getting better b/c thin spots on top started to fill in and did not even think of it much. I believe I shed less and was always running 3 miles a day in the summer and showering everyday. I rarely thought of my hair in the summer or about balding.

- Forward toward 11/12/18. Felt I was losing a little more hair in the shower and maybe paranoid so I went to dermatologist to get finasteride. Tried it for *3 days* 1 mg and did not like the brain fog, low libido, little tenderness in left breast and felt ball ache and yes I try to watch out for placebos.

*For a month, I've been shedding like MAD. I'm afraid to shower all the time since each time I go I clog up the hair strainer...and even when I rub my head, tons of hair starts to fall out non-stop. I've stopped minoxidil for 2 days and been using it everyday and now there's even more dandruff and flakes which made me get Nizoral.

- Might be unrelated: My gym performance has been terrible as well for that month and it's not depression. I will try and add more carbs but my mind is clear with good sleep but body feels weak when I work out again. It's so frustrating.

*I don't want to believe my baldness all of a sudden got worst in a month so aggressively because I was just fine in the summer and months past. I'm East Asian btw and I know everyone has different genetics and reacts differently. Blood test seems fine. Thanks for the long read. I feel that I will be bald within a few weeks and I guess I'll just buzz it all off and hope that I can rock a buzz cut at least. Could this be minoxidil late shedding or etc..?

To me it doesn't look like Androgenetic Alopecia, since with AA you still have roughly the same amount/count of hairs they just get miniaturized (until of course some of them are miniaturized to an extent where they don't go through the scalp anymore, then the count drops). With you it looks like the hairs are still relatively thick, but you have lost hair count and really quickly as well. Because of this I would not say that your "baldness all of a sudden got worse". It looks more like Telogen Effluvium, and if you can find the trigger (or if its gone) the hairs that has shed, should return. They might be a little miniaturized compared to the last cycle however.

--- Edit ---

Adding to the above, it should be noted that you can of course still be suffering from AA, but the very recent change does not look like it's coursed by AA.
