Is it bad to not get consistent doses of finasteride?

I cut my Proscar into fifths but I realized today it's probably far from perfect dosage. Is the variation hard on your system?

I thought this was my problem and bought some 1mg finpecia that will be here soon, but then in the past 4-5 days my mild side effects have been going away.

(Just over 3 months here, started May 16)

I think I'm fairly consistent but it's not perfect either.
