Hi folks,
I have really enjoyed your posts and I am so glad there is a group for people who suffer from hairloss.
This is hard to open up about. My dad has a receding hairline, and I just assumed that there was nothing I could do about it. Now I’m 35, and I can’t believe I didn’t ask around or think I had any choices about my receding hairline. I have been growing my hair out since December, and I have a Lot of hair everywhere except my front hairline.
I started finasteride on November 1 (the pictures I’m attaching where from that day). Do I have any chance at getting any type of results? Am I hopeless? Thank you all so much. I just feel so stupid that I didn’t do anything about it sooner. Thanks all,
Tom

First, you have tons of hair left. Second you're older, which usually means hair loss is slower. Third read up on what others have done for the temples. Definitely not hopeless...

I would say you're far from hopeless. The fact that you're 35 and with such little loss (It's not obvious to me so I'm taking your word that you thinned out some) means that you have very non aggressive hair loss. I'm 38 and I have very slow hair loss. As a matter of fact, I noticed it last month. It snuck up on me and blindsided me. That's the problem with slow hair loss. Are you on any growth stimulant product or routine? Minoxidil, roller derming?

The most important thing that you did was taking action. Regretting that you didn't start sooner doesn't solve anything. Take good care of your scalp and the hair that you have. Good luck.

I recommend a salicylic acid shampoo and nizoral shampoo twice or three times a week. I do it everyday but this might be a bit much. Also, maybe think about adding a hair stimulant product or routine (minoxidil, roller derming....).

My finasteride is working. I have been on it for three months and one week, and I took the time to look closely today and I definitely see new hairs. I can see that the progress has taken time, but I am so glad I have been patient. I hope it continues to work more effectively. I’m not sure if I should continue the minoxidil or not.
