Hello I m currently a 17m that is 3 month away from age 18. I did recetenly notice some minitruziation and recession in my left temples, I want to maintain my hairline as it is. Is it a good idea to start finasteride now?
Some Questions:
Will finasteride be less effective if I start now compared to when I start at 20?
Is it likely that I can maintain my hairline until the age of 30 when on finasteride?
Should I choose duaterside over finasteride?
Is it hard to get finasteride at age 17~18
Anyone still maintain there hairline for years on finaterside only that had started young? ~age 18
with that said, i don't mind the side effects as I m not a sexually active person, and I'm able to grow a full beard and chest hair so I don't think it will stunt my growth anymore as it is most likely finished.

dude I WISH I could tell myself at 17 years old "get the f*** on finasteride"...

bro hop on dem pills and you'll be alright.
it will maintain your hairline , while people like me, that start to lose hair at the age of 18, are in denial till 20-21, and only then start treatment but it's already too late because too much damage was done to the hairline.

You are in beautiful position right now, you are 17 and you know you are losing hair. that's awesome. I didn't know what's a hair-loss till 20-21 no matter how many signs there were.

Do it bro, and thank me about it in a year from now.

About side effects, fina does nothing bad to your body. it just stops testosterone turning into dht.

Sigh. Another prime example at the sheer amount of poor advice slung casually around this forum. Not only is this forum good for poor advice, but is also good for projecting a much needed layer of urgency, to take up anything that has a glimmer of growing hair; no matter the risk.... God I love this place.

Talk to a doctor, but in general the earlier you start the better chance there is to maintain what you have.
