Is it a good idea to add minoxidil after many years on finasteride?

Subject says it all.
Maybe I'm paranoid (wife says there's no difference), but I'm feeling finasteride is losing ground.

Will adding minoxidil help regrow or maintain?

Any long time finasteride- users who recently started minoxidil on the boards??

I had been using finasteride and minoxidil for year , I switched to foam and had incredible growth hairline to crown at 2 cans per month

Thanks man.
Did you start out with minoxidil and finasteride at the same time?
Also, why do you think foam works better than the liquid solution? Better absorption?
Did you experience shedding before the foam effects kicked in?

The simple answer is YES.

minoxidil will definitely help you regrow and maintain, especially given that you are already on finasteride.

The reason minoxidil gets a bad rep on this forum is because it doesn't stop the fundamental balding process, it purely provides an "offset of growth".

For someone using minoxidil alone, this means it will only be fully effective for 5 years or so.

However when used in combination with finasteride the results are almost always very impressive because the "offset of growth" being provided by minoxidil is no longer hindered by large amounts of DHT attacking hair follicles.

With the use of minoxidil and finasteride together you could realistically expect to regrow/thicken up and maintain your hairline for at least another 10years.
