Is Hair Loss More Noticeable Once You've Gone Through It?

I only have a norwood 2, I think. It's not that bad, and it's not that noticeable. I don't even take an active effort in hiding it. I just have the fringe I've had for a long time, and that happens to hide it on its own mostly. Now, my older brother (who's 24, I'm 20 in a few days), doesn't have any hair loss as far as I can tell, but he's always had a slight widow's peak. It seems even when showing him, he couldn't tell what I was talking about until I said "it's going away! It sucks!".

Something I noticed though. When I didn't have any hair loss, I never really noticed. Even when I could tell, I just thought it was normal. Or I just didn't notice at all, cause I never paid attention. Now, I see norwood 2 everywhere, even on some women once in a while. Back then, I didn't really see as guy as "balding" even for norwood 3s, really. Unless they had balding in the crown or had a complete horseshoe would I see that as balding.

Is it just because I'm more used to looking at hairlines or something? Or are norwood 2 hairlines just common?
