Is finasteride bad in the long run?

I'm about to go to the doctor and get a script for finasteride but I was wondering how it works. When the day comes that it stops working does your hair loss accelerate faster than it ever would have without the pills and you'd keep hair for a few years but lose more then you would have if you never took the pills? Is there not enough research to determine that?

what i dont understand is how finasteride is ineffective for some people?
because doesn't inhibit like 90% of type 2 dht which is the primary cause of hair loss?

So finasteride won't cause some sort of hormone intolerance in my body that speeds up balding once I stop taking it?

No. That's the bull**** information Wolfpack and some other member is promoting.

5mg of Finasteride is inhibiting 69% of serum DHT.

Finasteride doesn't work in 10% of the people who takes it because they've a specific genotype that is non-responding to this drug. However, Dutasteride has a 99.4% succesrate.

that 69% number includes type II dht, which is neither inhibited by finasteride or causes hair loss
