Is anyone on a program that is working for them? I don't mean growing new hair, I mean maintaining what you currently have. I have been using Rogaine for a couple of years which I believe has slowed the balding process, but my hair has still thinned a little over that time. My baldness is the kind that causes thinning all over the top rather than the receding sort. Does this require a different approach than a receding hairline?

If anyone has been successfully maintaining the hair they currently have for more than a year with the same sort of baldness as me I would be interested in hearing what you are doing.

Hi biff and welcome to this discussion forum.

The treatment program that I've been on now for close to three years (this June will mark three years:) has successfully helped me to keep the hair that I have. It has helped to normalize my scalp condition as well which used to be so dry that even anti-dandruff shampoos didn't help :freaked: But I know without the shadow of a doubt if I hadn't done something pro-active to stop my hairloss that I'd be close to a Norwood 5 or 6 by now.

Thanks guys. What are you using Greg1?

Are there any topical DHT reducing products that anyone is having success with? I am a bit wary about taking Propecia and the like. I was looking at Saw Palmetto but it seems that people can have side effects on that as well if taken orally. I'm currently only using Rogaine and a Hair Max Laser Comb so could do with something to try and reduce DHT as well.

I was pretty sceptical about the laser comb, but I read an article on the web where they were testing various products and a trichologist noticed an improvement in the guy testing the laser comb. I have also heard that a number of hair restoration clinics use laser light as well. I have only been using it for around a month and it doesn't seem to have helped so far, but it is still early days.

Try spironolactone.

Yes, all due to you guys!!! Big three, herbal topicals, spironolactone cream, etc. All are definitely improving my hair little by little.

(The 2210 graft hair transplant didn't hurt either.  )

Where were the Big Three when I came down with male pattern baldness?! :-x :-x

Thanks again. Have you got diffuse balding Axon? Also, have you had any side effects with Finasteride?

What herbal topicals are you using along with the spironolactone Old Baldy? And where do you get spironolactone?

biff, I've been using the LC or LLLT for almost three years. At the very least, it has helped to maintain the hair that I have left:)

How often do you use your laser comb, Greg1? I have read that some people use it three times a week and others twice. I currently use it twice a week and go front to back and then side to side, spending 5 seconds at each increment.
