Is Alcohol free Minoxidil solution less effective than Alcohol based minoxidil?

I'm thinking about switching to Alcohol free minoxidil so, I want some input on it from you guys.

In terms of Minoxidil's effectiveness, i don't think it will make any difference.

I believe that an alcohol-free Minoxidil solution will be much less drying and irritating to the scalp.

I would guess the alcohol is either a drying agent or a binding agent. It probably has nothing to do with the efficacy of the minoxidil
