Is a receeding hairline always male pattern baldness?

Hi guys, I'm new to the idea of hair loss but have started looking into it, because I noticed my hair was thinning. I was wondering if your hairline recedes is it always male pattern baldness or can things such as Telogen Effluvium cause your hair loss to go in the same pattern as male pattern baldness?

accepting male pattern baldness is the first step to keeping your hair. just look at your family and their hair. 95% of men that notice hairloss is from male pattern baldness.

That's why I'm curious it's not really in my family, even neither grandfathers have it

If you know for sure that you have thinned on side AND back, then it might not be as simple as male pattern baldness. However, if your loss is from either vertex or frontal/temporal or combination of both, then it's definitely male pattern baldness.

If your hair loss is in the male pattern baldness pattern, then that is definitely male pattern baldness.
