Hello, all. Jack here, 29, and new to the forum. Earlier this year, I noticed that my hairline had receded, probably to about a Norwood 1.5, and that the hair in the center of my forehead had begun to thin. This wasn't super pronounced, but enough that I noticed, and as my thick shoulder length hair has always been my calling card I decided to take action.
I began taking Finasteride (1 pill per day) with Minoxidil applied twice a day and a wash with Nizoral every five days in mid November. One month later, I've noticed vellus hair growth on parts of my lateral hairline that haven't had hair since high school. I've also noticed a measurable but not terrible increase in thinning in the front (this is not visible unless I lift the hair up to look), which I'm not panicking about since they say Minoxidil often causes an initial shed, and the front is where I've been applying it more since I have no loss at the crown.
Does this sound about normal? I'd welcome any thoughts.
