They are giving it a real go now. Test patch of 1 square centimeter............................about 70 or so new hairs = success in this trial. Anything more is icing on the cake. 20 trialees. Third phase would probably encompass whole heads if this one is successful. If its not, they'll go back and try again in another small area.

This phase is proof they expect this thing to really work. ITs great news for all w/male pattern baldness

cool. i could use the wrinkle therapy too for some frown lines. I hope they can treat large pores too.

so if the phaseII works, how many years are we looking at before we can pay for it? can we buy it before they finish phaseIII?

I don't care how much it costs. I should be graduating from college in either spring 2008 or fall 2009 and I'm gonna get it as soon as I've got the money or I'll put off buying a house and take a loan out for hair lol. (Assuming this works).

great news, i don't think the money will be a problem as long as it works properly and you dont need to keep on taking finasteride etc

i think the cost will be 10-50k for everything, not for each injection!!

Yes they can. There are plenty rich bald people who now wear hairpieces or have bad transplants who would pay this sum in a blink of an eye. And I think this price is quite realistic for a new high tech treatment. An expensive treatment is better than no treatment at all.

what could possibly be in the 50k deluxe process that isnt in the normal 10k one?
surely you either regrow hair or you dont, where does deluxe come into it?!

The price probably varies in two things: coverage and density. A deluxe 50k GBP is probably for going from NW8 to NW1. So for most people here the price would probably still be between 10 and 20k .

I think it is extemely FAIR.

These people found the cure to hair loss and our depression. They deserve to get money. There are many rich people who can pay it. I was very skeptical of HM being 5k. They probably said that so they could sell stocks at a higher price or get research funds.

Once the rich people all get their hair done, and a few middle income guys go into debt, the prices will come down, after the company thinks the rich guys are no longer holding out. The process can't be that expensive. they will make a lot of money even at 5k. But why not get a lot more in the beginning. I think it will take 2-5 years for the prices to come down. How long does the patent last? Yeah, so I will get transplants in the next 6 months, and then get HM after graduation when the prices come down, so i can have higher density than I even had.

5 pounds is about 9 dollars, off the top of my head.

Yes you are right in that can well start selling it for the richer guys...hopefully those rich guys will make the procedure fast so it can be affordable for us :D

yeah, the docs will be well trained by the time they get to us.

The NW5+ guys should all be jumping for joy, since hair transplant was not a big help.

A shaved head can look better than an hair transplant on a NW5. They just can't get the density and coverage. Maybe some. Depends how big. Maybe it is NW6 that can't. If I were NW5, I'd shave my head, save my money, and find something fun to do like surfing, and just try to keep my skin from aging, by wearing sun block and GTE. Since I'm a NW1.5-2ish, diffuse in the hair line, it makes sense for me to get grafts now and deal with the next 5 years without hair.

you guys have to remember that most of the people getting HM are not college students. Most of them are 40-55, and are well established and will trade some retirement savings or take a second mortgage on their house to get hair. HM will let really old men compete with younger men again. It is not just for the rich, but for the guys over 40, and there are many. It may take more than 5 years for prices to come down. Maybe 10. But when the patent expires, prices will drop like a rock.

50% of men over 50 have lots of hair loss. and 35% of men over 35. And no matter what they all said about not caring about hair loss blah blah blah, millions will pop out of the wood work to get hair replacement, and the price will stay up for a while. You will see bosley ads on TV soon, every day, for years. i would not be surprised if my retired, conservative christian father, whose wife is dead, takes some of his retirement savings and does this, despite all he said about not wanting to date again. He is in great shape, and his hair is what gives his age away.

I just went to a euro/U.S. dollar translation site, and it says that 1 euro = 1.275 dollars. So if a treatment cost 10,000 euros, it would translate to 12,755 dollars.

$90K for this is a little much, i dont care what anyone says. hell, i think 20K is a little high. yeah, rich people will get it done, but do you know how many people they are alienating by making it so high? who knows, maybe if it is this much they will have a great payment plan...over 10 years or something, who knows. and i guarantee the likes of bruce willis, sean connery, etc. wont be paying a dime for this. what better publicity out there than to give these guys full heads of hair for free?

again, this is all assuming it works, which at this point, is a mighty big assumption. ultimately, having to pay for it will be a very nice problem to have.
