this is regarding the so called "initial" side effects of finasteride. there are some who claim they still cant achieve erection years after even stopping the treatment. this poll should answer the most imp question about finasteride for newbies/ me included. Do take the time out and answer it if you are on or have been on finasteride ever.

I personally feel propecia and proscars statistics regarding side effects are CRAP!... after reading through almost every feedback forum on the web about the side effects i believe its total crap that ONLY 0.8 percent go through sexual dysfunctions after starting finasteride. the statistics vary from website to website somewhat.

a small example would be http://www.askdocweb.com/propecia2.html ..almost EVERY OTHER user complains about the side effects and for some the side effects dont even go after after 11 months to 2 years of usage!...

Did you read about the side-effects BEFORE you started taking the finasteride?

I think a lot of people read about the sides; started taking finasteride, and at the first sign of anything remotely different attributed it to finasteride.

For example, a persons libido naturally fluctuates during the year. It always has done; just most people don't really notice it very much. If someone has started taking finasteride however, and their libido naturally fluctuates, instead of being a natural process its OMG OMG OMG F1N K1LL3D MY L1BID0 AM G0NNA DIE etc (don't forget the ALL CAPS)

i agree..i dont believe its just paranoia about their libido functionality that makes people complain about the side effects of finasteride. and almost every other guy?? i dont think so... its just people assume everybodys affected so its all good..when it isnt..and yes you can read up on the sides...low volume of semen and a messed up libido are just some. on the feedback forums..(link which i pasted above) lots of people are switching to procerin just cause of the sides... EVERY person on that websites complaining, so dont just look at the guys for who turned out to be 'lucky' and for whom it worked.

i'm just saying the stats are way off....and people should have a true picture of what percentage of its users go through the sides and how long the sides last. dunno about you but i take even the 'risk' of permanent impotency really ..really serious...i'd rather be bald for crying out loud.

i dont think procerine has the sides associated with proscar or propecia...its ingredients are different. the website i mentioned has loads of people switching to that instead due to side's they face from finasteride.

anyway..best of luck to you, i'd recommend you see a Doctor asap and try to mitigate.

the guy on the website keeps saying they dont know how long it takes to recover from sides once you've quit...he said it *should* take not more than a month or so to get it completely out of your system. so if you're still facing sides you should go for a check up.
