Indole 3 Acetic Acid is a plant auxin(hormone) and its derivatives are potent CRTH2 antagonists. I am wondering why it isn't discussed as being a possible topical to block Prostaglandin D2. Here is what intrigued me about it:

1) Potent CRTH2 antagonist
2) Cheap and widely available
3) Study on NCBI showing it was used topically on subjects with acne and is SAFE

Here are a few of links about it:

Interesting Side Note: Supposedly tryptophan is a CRTH2 antagonist

I3AA causes free radicals with sunlight...

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21412803

"IAA produced free radicals with green light irradiation. Importantly, IAA lost its photosensitizing ability after exposure to certain amount of light. This implies IAA PDT would not require post-procedure photo-protection."

Another interesting thread of the past which just died out like this :(

"indole-1-sulfonyl-3-acetic acids" is what they used in the second link. Not just IAA :(

Basically vinegar. Interesting. This maybe explains why so many people rave about why apple cider vinegar has helped their hair growth and loss. Also since we know that anti-fingals (which vinegar is) can prevent hairloss, it would make further sense, although it’s mechanisms as such haven’t been fully understood. Perhaps this answers a question - Gp antagonism. We’ve always looked at it as a scalp decalcifier/follicle cleanser. There seems to be far more too it.
