Increasing finasteride Dosage

Hey guys.

I just ordered my forth batch of finasteride pills. I'm nearing the 3 year mark using finasteride. And was wondering if upping my dosage would help or just be a waste of money.

I have been taking .5mg everyday since January 2013. I was fearful like many are of side effects so chose to go with a lower dosage. And like the majority of guys, I of course experienced no side effects at all. Just effects.

My hair loss stopped completely. I never noticed a shed simply due to fact that I buzz my head once every two weeks, maintaining an appearance that I have a head full of hair, and just choose to have very little(I do enjoy it, low maintenance, gives a very masculine look).

As a diffuse thinner, my coverage has stayed good, and over the 3 years density in most places has increased dramatically(although many new terminal hairs are a different color from my natural hair, making my hair look thinner than it is when grown out). My crown still needs work, otherwise I could grow it out and be happy with what I have.

Now I know peak finasteride results occur around the 2 year mark. I've passed that. And I know that lower dosages of finasteride, like .25mg and .5mg have been shown to be nearly as effective at reducing dht as a full 1mg dose.

Would bumping myself up to 1mg daily be good? Could I possibly see more regrowth? Or am I past regrowth and should just enjoy maintaining what I have?

Oh and I do use minoxidil. It is at best, mildly effective for me and regrowth of hair. Mostly working on my temple peaks and temples.

Appreciate any thoughts fellas.

The full dose seems to inhibit a few extra percent points of dht than the half dose. Like 3% to 5% more.

I always took the full dose. And as far as I remember, I saw regrouth even after 5yrs. It kinda happened in cycles.. A cycle of regrow, followed by a cycle of maintenance, etc..
