I have now been on 0.25mg finasteride for a week. I am still getting scalp itch though it was better than it was prior to finasteride. How long does it usually take for scalp itch to go away?

Also I will be going away soon and do not want to be splitting pills because I will be with friends don't want them to see etc. So can I split 4 pills all at the same time (enough for 16 days)? Or do the split pills need to be used shortly after they are split?

Scalp itch for me went away at about 2-3 weeks, on 1.25MG finasteride. The first 'effect' I noticed was a testicle ache after the first week or so, and that lasted a couple days. It has gone and not come back, and I haven't had that old scalp itch ever since! It's a great feeling not having to scratch all the damn time.

Splitting the pills doesn't affect them in any way; I split 50 proscar pills into quarters all at once and will use them for the next year. Just ensure that you are keeping the split pills and the resulting powder away from women!

Alrite thanks for the reply wuffer, I guess I will stay at 0.25mg finasteride for one month, if the itch doesnt go away I will increase my dosage to 0.5mg stay on it for another month, if scalp itch still doesnt go away I will again increase my dosage to 1mg
