It is indeed thin.
You should see a doctor, because usually these types of alopecia can be caused by thyroid and stress.

Retrograde... I have it as well. I think some people just end up getting based on my Norwood spotting. I actually do have thyroid issues on the mix but I think for most people it’s just part of their genetics.

Didn’t you recently quit topical rogaine? Could just be the post min shed

The only advice I have is to go get your tsh, ft4, vitd and iron panel checked. They will about 99% be all normal.

After that take 8-9 mont progress pictures comparing your hair to pre-finasteride and let an unbiased third party say if you actually lost ground. If so then you need to decide if you want to add duta or not.

As long as you don’t have scalp inflammation who really cares... sure hair is nice and all but if you try and it doesn’t work out just rock a buzz cut and transition to shaving when your hair get’s too thin. Sure your looks take a hit but it’s not the end of the world

Scalp inflammation is when things get nasty....

DUPA, Retrograde Alopecia ? Not good for you, very agressive MPHL

How’s your scalp doing man? Find anything else that’s worked for you? I’m pretty convinced you were right and NAC helps a decent amount.

Propecia is actually helping my itch a lot now, just praying I don’t get worsening itch a few months in...

Thanks for the feed back.

But yes, I quit Tropical rogaine about a month ago and started oral min 2 weeks ago. But why would the sides be taking a hit from this? Wouldn't it just be the male pattern baldness areas up top? I didn't really apply it to the sides however Im sure it got there.
However you are right, even if it is DUPA or retrograde I guess finasteride and Min are really the only things I can do right now anyways.

It can trigger a temporary Telogen Effluvium.
