illusion of dencer hair

I just started a new regimen a few weeks ago and my hair looks a lot thicker to me. I was going to blame the regimen, but I know hair does not grow that fast. right before I started the regimen, I had buzzed my hair to 1/3 inch. Since then it has grown to about 2/3 or 3/4 inch. so the extra length makes it look thicker. However, the reason I had buzzed it was I was upset with how thin it looked, and wanted it shorter to hide the thinness, which only magnified it. I remember it looking thinner than this. So that just goes to show how we can't trust our memory. Got to have pictures, even for 2 weeks.

I find that how thick my hair looks depends a lot on the cosmetic effect of what i'm putting on it. For example when I started using hydrocortisone cream my crown started looking thinner.

I stopped for a day and after I washed my hair again it looked thicker again. I concluded that residue from the cream was staying in my hair even after a wash, making it appear thinner.

A days break to completely remove the residue and it looks thicker again.

You're right hairs appearance is highly variable and we shouldn't be so quick to attribute good or bad changes to changes in our regimes.
