I have always thought that long hair makes your hairloss more conspicuous. But seems like in this case its helping.
I'm another where keeping a few inches of hair to style with improves things cosmetically.

Love the eye patch, iam, and glad the regimen's working for ya too.

Oo ar, matey!

One I did recently for other purposes, so thought I'd post anyway, to give peeps an update. I bleached it very slightly too...

Couldn't be bothered with the pirate stuff... I am out of the closet as it were :p

Hey - I'm looking at a camera. What kind of a weirdo finds looking at a lens funny

Alright - next pic I promise I will be all sunshine and laughter.

Update for you b****s.

There you go Solo - it is possible for me to smile :D

Anyway - i've been posting less because my job has been absolutely devouring my free time, but also because I'm pretty happy with my hair! dutasteride, Min nizoral and Copper Peptides have really helped things, even with the odd missed application. I would say that I haven't really regrown much but what I have is much thicker than it was.

Anyway - I wish you all luck and the very best in your efforts.

(p.s. apologis for the photo quality, the f*****g shutter jammed in my camera and I need to get it fixed - this was taken on my phone)

You expressed a concern over clogging up follicles with your spironolactone mixture. Have you changed it at all?

I use it less often now... Whether this is a good or bad thing remains to be seen.

I don't believe in the clogging of pores theory really, it's just that it can make my hair initially quite greasy. The plus side is that it hydrates it and gives it more volume, however.

Christ, iamnaked, from your postings in the off-topic forum, I would never have taken you for under 25, you just have it together so much mentally.

Anyway, congratulations, your hair looks fine. You've really gone for it with your regimen. Mine is coming along slowly but nicely but, to be honest, I think I'll always be thin in back.

Re: iamnaked's story - (updated 8/02/2008)

So it's been nearly two years since I joined! I am now 24 and living in Argentina...

I thought it was about time for an update. First just photos. Unfortunately Tinypic's image hosting isn't very long lived. I noticed some of my previous photos in the thread have been nixed. This can't really be helped. I lost all of the files on my computer due to a catastrophic fuckup involving the need to reformat my hard-drive (yep that bad).

Now without the hair pulled back, showing I think, that a short back and sides is a good choice for someone who's receding at the front :p

Re: iamnaked's story - (updated 27/12/2006)

Thoughts on my treatment:

Since I moved to Argentina I've pretty much only been using dutasteride and minoxidil. I am generally happy with the state of my hair - that is to say that given the genetic hand I've been dealt I'm in a much better situation than I would be with no medication.

Overall I think even after having been on dutasteride for 2 years, I've receded slightly more in the temple areas, although this has been balanced out to some extent by an improvement in the overall thickness of my hair taken as a whole.

Due to a recent disaster and me getting my duprost impounded in Argentina I've started to use Avodart. I crunched a capsule recently, which made me pretty certain that what you're getting in Duprost is the same deal. I would describe the flavour as a cross between sichuan pepper and washing up liquid. Duprost as I remember it is slightly more acidic-tasting.

It's pretty cheap over here, relatively speaking ~$1 per day. Anyone coming to South America please either bring a large supply or buy Avodart here. Ordering from international online pharmacies is a f*****g nightmare and the postal system sucks donkey c***.

As a final note, I would add that happiness is not tied up in your hair. Don't use your hair loss as an excuse for why you are unsuccessful in other ways. I am glad I no longer obsessively check mirrors and shiny surfaces. Have epic adventures, work out what you want to do, and go do it.

Re: iamnaked's story - (updated 08/02/2008)

Quick photo update since I got back from Argentina. Basically pretty happy maintaining. I still have a big forehead which I've always had, but IMO there's not that much evidence of the v shape and it looks OK. It looks in better state than in my passport photo 8 years ago, which I think is a success. I cut my hair myself before taking this photo (It's not that hard to do and highly recommended, I hate barbers)

Your hair looks great bro !! And if you cut that yourself you have good chances of being hired by a salon.
