We may have to take trips to get treatment(s) so I think everyone should use credit cards to build rewards miles/points in order to get discount/free travel. We may have to take multiple trips to Asia or New York or somewhere else. These trips could be cost prohibitive so people should be building rewards miles/points for this.

Also, I want to add that applications for credit cards can be rejected/denied. There is no guarantee that a credit card will be approved and issued just because a person applies. Credit card companies have screening processes. Also, when someone applies for a credit card, an inquiry is put on the person's credit history/profile.

yes, that's indeed the biggest topic which we should focus on.

Hey Smarty-pants it will be the most important topic if a breakthrough treatments comes to market outside of America and most of the posters can't afford to go to that country. International travel can be more expensive than the treatment(s). A trip to Asia with hotel, ground transportation, food could easily run $4,000 to $5,000. And then there's the cost of the treatment. You're not going to get the doctor to give you a big discount so the smart play is to try to figure out a way to reduce the travel expenses.

We may also have to fly overseas more than once because it might take multiple treatments to get what we want.

I've been building reward miles/points for about 3 years and I've got a lot. As a matter of fact, today I went to the bank to get another credit card, which got me some more miles today when i signed up for that credit card. I'm doing a credit card shuffle and the miles/points are really piling up. Some credit cards give bonus miles when you sign up.

Yeah especially for me being at the bottom of the world isolated from everywhere. Travel will cost more than whatever the treatment is. ffs

That's why I'm offering you this advice. I'm trying to help you. Are you OK with giving me a general idea where you live - I'm curious.

Unless the first cure comes to market in Australia you are a long way from where most of the hair research is taking place. Most of it's taking place in America, Asia, and Europe. A little is happening in Russia and China too. My advice is to try to build airline reward miles/points by way of credit card bonuses.

Lets be real here, you aren't going anywhere. By the time treatment is available, all your points expired loooong time ago. Chances are, we might not even be using credit cards by that time.
